Brow styles & techniques
What’s the Difference Between Microblading, Powder, and Nano Brows?Microblading uses a hand tool to etch realistic hair strokes into the skin. While it can look great on normal to dry skin with tiny pores, I no longer offer this method. After 8 years of experience, I’ve found it causes excess scar tissue and is too harsh for long-term skin health. Machine work is safer, softer, and my preferred method.Powder Brows are done with a tattoo machine for a shaded, makeup-ready look that still heals soft and defined. Great for all skin types—especially oily, mature, or porous skin.Nano Brows mimic hair strokes using a machine, offering a gentler alternative to microblading. Works for all skin types and can be combined with shading for extra depth.
What to expect at your appointment
Consultation first.
First you will fill out a consent form and then we’ll talk about your goals, the style you like, and what’s realistic for your skin type and face shape. If you have any photos reference photos, this is when I'll ask to see them.Mapping & numbing.
I’ll map your brows for symmetry, show you the outline, and apply numbing cream before we begin so you stay comfortable the whole time. I also use numbing during the process to ensure it's pain free. The procedure itself.
Most clients feel a sensation of scratching or vibration, but not pain. The first pass creates the base shape; the rest is for layering color and detail. You lay on my memory foam massage table and I sit behind you and work back and forth on each brow. We can chat or we can keep it silent, whatever you prefer. Your first appointment from start to finish takes about 1.5hr.The reveal & aftercare.
You’ll leave with brows that look bold at first — that’s normal and expected. I’ll give you an aftercare bag and clear instructions so you know exactly how to care for them while they heal.
THE REAL TALK - no filters, just full transparency
Brows look bold at first — on purpose.
Pigment sits in the top skin layer and the one below. Until the top layer exfoliates, brows look darker and more defined than the final healed result. Then they look too light — but the color isn’t gone.
As skin sheds, new skin temporarily hides the pigment. It can look patchy or even like it disappeared. This “ghost phase” is normal.True color settles in 4–6 weeks.
Once skin fully heals, the pigment softens and evens out. Touch-ups happen after this stage so we can perfect the brows on a fully healed canvas.More pigment and more frequent touch ups isn’t better.
Chasing that bold, fresh look with too much pigment or too many touch-ups can lead to ashy tones, blurring, and even need for removal if the skin can’t accept any more ink.Less is more for long-term results.
We start softer and build gradually so your brows heal naturally, look great longer, and age beautifully over time.Touch-ups are part of the process.
The first session creates the foundation; the second session perfects shape and color once healed.Brows are sisters, not twins.
Faces aren’t perfectly symmetrical. We design brows for balance and harmony — not identical “stencil” brows. They won’t stay looking like Day 1.
Freshly done brows always look crisp and defined because pigment sits on top of the skin. Once healed, you’ll see them through a layer of healed skin, so they always soften. That’s normal. Don't get caught in the chase of day 1 looking brows, it's literally impossible to obtain permanently. For that reason, you may still keep your brow pencil for days you wear more makeup and feel your brows need a little extra oomph.Healing isn’t the cutest, but it's not that bad.
There’s always an “awkward phase” with a little flaking, patchiness, and itching. Don’t panic, don’t pick — just follow the aftercare instructions I give you. Results vary for everyone.
Skin type, age, medications, sun exposure, and aftercare all affect how brows heal and how long they last.Healed brows shrink slightly.
We map them a little bigger at first so the final result is the right size.
